2026 Amateur Challenge Trainers

Whitney Price

Whitney Price is a Gulf Coast horsewoman and the owner/operator of Blue Meadow Ranch in Pass Christian, Mississippi.   Blue Meadow Ranch sits on land deeply rooted in her family’s history. Her late grandfather, Gene Allen, built the ranch from the ground up in the early 90s. Together with Whitney’s grandmother, Sybil Allen, he helped launch the Dixie National Wagon Train from Gulfport to Jackson back in 1983. Their love for horses carried into the next generation. Her father, Al, grew up running barrels and trail riding alongside them. Today, Whitney continues that legacy on the same property, where she lives with her husband Shawn and their son Kash.  Over the years, Whitney developed a training style built on that heritage: consistent, respectful, and rooted in understanding the horse first. She grew up breeding and raising American Quarter Horses, and after graduating from the Oklahoma State Horseshoeing School in 2012, she gained a sharper eye for soundness and subtle lameness issues—knowledge she considers invaluable in training. She believes in reading the whole horse, recognizing the difference between scared, resistant, and hurting, and adjusting her approach to what each horse truly needs.  For Whitney, horsemanship is equal parts skill, patience, and faith. She credits every good thing in her life to the good Lord, and she strives to honor Him in the way she rides, teaches, and trains.

bryson moorman

Bryson Moorman was born and raised in Pontotoc, Mississippi. He entered the horse world at the age of seven and developed a genuine, lifelong passion for horsemanship. He began training  in earnest at eighteen and launched his training and farrier business, Magnolia Equine Services, at nineteen. Bryson credits many seasoned cowboys as early influences, but his father has played the most significant role in shaping his training philosophy. Primarily a barrel and cutting horse trainer, his father taught him the fundamentals that continue to guide his work today. Through his mentorship, Bryson learned consistency, discipline, self-control, patience, and softness. These principles remain central to his approach. His primary training focuses include thoughtful pressure responses, clear communication, engagement, patience, and maintaining soft hands, feet, and feel, all with an emphasis on the horse’s comfort. In addition to training, Bryson is a full-time farrier serving clients across three states, and he is a dedicated coach to a group of exceptional students. He prides himself on integrity and patience in all areas of life. He is also an active churchgoer who serves through music and youth ministry. Bryson is grateful for this opportunity and looks forward to the journey ahead.

Tosha Williams

For the last six years, Tosha Williams has poured her heart into the kind of horse training that feels less like a job and more like a calling. With early mornings, dusty boots, soft nickers, and the steady whisper of God guiding every step, what started as a quiet dream grew into a life built in the saddle.

Tosha believes a good horse isn’t “made”; it’s uncovered. With patience, respect, and a steady hand, she helps each horse find confidence and softness from the inside out. Whether it’s a young one learning to trust or a seasoned horse needing a fresh start, she meets them where they are, with honesty, grace, and a whole lot of feel.

Her training isn’t about ribbons or quick results. It’s about connection, partnership, and showing horses they can breathe, settle, and become the best version of who God designed them to be.

Ava Schuetzle

Ava is  a dedicated young horsewoman whose journey started over a decade ago in the eventing and hunter/jumper world. She grew up riding at a local barn and had the opportunity to learn under several respected trainers, shaping her into the thoughtful, well-rounded rider she is today.

About six years ago, Ava stepped into the world of training with her first personal project, a 6-year-old OTTB who sparked her lasting love for Thoroughbreds. Three years later, she discovered Mississippi Horses while searching for a pony to start from the ground up, ultimately finding (and falling for) a small Appaloosa who now competes successfully in the large pony hunters.

She returned to Mississippi Horses two years later for a summer job and later joined the organization’s volunteer training program. She is currently the barn manager at Twelve Oaks, MS Horses' main facility.

Ava enjoys taking on the tougher cases and finds purpose in helping horses build confidence, understanding, and trust.

jessica kolb

Jessica Kolb is a no-nonsense Middle Tennessee horsewoman who has built a reputation for addressing tough training challenges with calm consistency, clear boundaries, and an unwavering commitment to the horse’s well-being. She prioritizes manners and emotional soundness long before speed or flash, believing that rock-solid basics create confident, capable partners, no matter the discipline or starting point.

Working out of her small but versatile facility just outside Nashville, she focuses on creating a respectful, balanced foundation for every horse that comes through her program. Her practical approach has earned her the trust of owners seeking thoughtful, welfare-based training.

In addition to her day-to-day work with horses, she regularly hosts clinics, small film productions, and private events on her property. She offers a welcoming environment that reflects her straightforward style and high standards. Whether she’s helping a troubled horse reset, coaching riders through foundational skills, or supporting creative projects, her goal remains the same: calm, clear communication and a horse-first mindset every step of the way.

Brittany Price

Brittany Price got her first horse at age 12, and he remained her partner for 22 wonderful years. Throughout her life, she has had the opportunity to work with a variety of riding styles, from Western to Dressage, and each has shaped the well-rounded horsewoman she is today. She now shares her passion for training with her children, especially through their work with mustangs. In the fall of 2024, Brittany participated in the Horse Help Challenge hosted by Michael Gascon, where she earned the title of Most Improved with her Mustang gelding.

Brittany strives to build a solid foundation in every horse she works with, using principles of natural horsemanship and clear, compassionate communication. She’s incredibly excited for the opportunity to help train a horse who’s ready to find their next partner.

John Campbell

John is the founder of Campbell Performance Quarter Horses, where he breeds, trains, and sells foundation quarter horse stock. John’s journey with horses began in his childhood, spending summers on his uncle’s expansive ranch in Montana. By the age of 14, he had already trained his first stud colt from start to finish, and he’s been dedicated to equine excellence ever since.

John has been fortunate to learn under renowned trainers like Al Granchamp, and he continues to grow as both a horseman and a lifelong student of the craft. For the past 13 years, he’s been a training his horses for shaw and for sale, specializing in reining and working cow horses. His approach emphasizes learning from every horse he encounters, always striving to improve and give back to the animals that have shaped his life.

John is participating in the Heart of the Horse Trainer’s Challenge, aiming to deepen his knowledge and contribute positively to the equine community. Through Campbell Performance Quarter Horses, he remains committed to improving and celebrating the exceptional bond between horses and humans.

Jessica Hemmingway

Jessica Hemingway is an 18-year-old up and coming horse trainer who has had a passion for horses ever since she was old enough to sit in the saddle. Jessie currently works alongside her family at Rockin H Farms with training horses, lessons, and offering sale horses to the public. She has been able to be involved with all types of horses - from young horses, problem solving, and finishing touches. She deeply enjoys the process of training and starting a horse from the ground up as she believes that a strong foundation will make a willing riding partner in the long run.

Jessie is set on continuing her education and growing in the equine industry by developing her skill sets to give the horses she works with a fair chance at success. This will be her first time in a competition, but she is looking forward for the opportunity, what she can gain from the experience, and how she can help a horse in need of training.

logan breedlove

Logan L Breedlove is 26 years old and was born and raised in Oldham County KY. A few years ago, a friend introduced him to the equine world. Since then, he and his daughter have been infatuated with horses, riding and training. Horses have taught them patience, trust, and dealing with unpredictable circumstances. Win or lose, Logan is excited to compete with his peers that share the same passion.

Jessica adams

Jessica Adams is a life long horse lover- at 17 she had the pleasure of working with an untrusting mare and seeing that horse grow gave her a lifelong love of helping horses find their confidence and the job that they love most.

The agriculture department at Morehead State University in Kentucky gave her the experience of working with many different horses and styles of riding to grow the toolset needed to train. She knows that she wouldn’t be the horsewoman she is if it weren't for the knowledge of trainers she’s learned from and grown with, as well as the amazing horses that she’s had the joy to ride with along the way!

Jessica sees that each horse is an individual and has to be met where they are at in order to grow, a principle she uses daily as a therapist and mom of a 2 year old. She believes that a calm, confident, and solid foundation sets any horse up to thrive in their future home. Jessica is excited to bring her HOH partner home to Water Valley, MS and get them set up for success!

victoria morgan

Victoria Morgan is returning to the Heart of the Horse Challenge with a sense of purpose and an exciting new goal. After competing in last year’s Pony Challenge, Victoria is stepping up to challenge herself as an Amateur competitor this season. With a strong foundation in hunter jumpers and proven success in the show ring, she brings both showmanship skills and genuine horsemanship to every horse she works with.

Victoria has spent years working with a wide variety of horses at Mississippi Horses, where she has been a driving force in helping more kids get involved, build confidence, and learn as much as they can about horses and training. She is deeply committed to education, patience, and developing strong partnerships between horse and rider.

She prefers to follow the Clinton Anderson training method and credits much of her success to the guidance of her mentor, Clinton Anderson Ambassador Kaylee Rice. This year’s challenge holds special meaning for Victoria, as it reflects both her growth as a trainer and her passion for continuing to push herself outside her comfort zone. She is eager and excited to meet her partner for this year’s challenge and see where the journey leads.
